Martijn started his co-driver career in 2012 during the TAC Rally, 2nd round of the Belgian Rally Championship.
In 2013, Martijn competed in his first WRC event, France Alsace, alongside Philip Cracco in a Ford Fiesta R5.
Furthermore, he was co-driving for several Belgian drivers in National events and for Freddy Loix during devolepment tests with Skoda Motorsport and Michelin Competition.
2015 was the first full season in international rallying for Martijn, when he was part of the Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy together with Dutch young talent, Mats van den Brand.
In March 2016, Martijn signed a contract with Hyundai Motorsport , to join the HMDP program as co-driver for Korean driver Chewon Lim.
In May 2018, Martijn returned to the Belgian Rally Championschip alongside Guillaume de Mévius, and became also member of the RACB National Team.
